Job Stories From Hancock County, IN
Mold Remdiation and Crawl Space Waterproofing in Fortville, IN

Brian had mold growing in his crawl space, and he knew it would only cause greater problems down the road if not properly addressed.  Because of the constant moisture build up on the crawl space walls and high humidity, mold became a amajor issue.  Our sales representative Terry went to Brian's home for a free crawl space inspection and determined that mold needed to be taken care of, or it could potentially cause health issues for Brian and his family.

In addition to the mold issue, there was some puddles of water in the crawl space as well.  Luckily for Brian, our foreman Joe and his crew are certified in crawl space repairs and mold remediation.  The crew installed our CleanSpace encapsulation system, a TripleSafe sump pump, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to resolve the mold and water issues.

With this waterproofing system now installed, Brian should never have to worry about these issues reoccurring!  Mold can slowly eat away at your home so let us take care of it for you.

Crawl Space Repair in Greenfield, IN

Deanna's crawl space had some water entering from her porous concrete walls.  Without a proper encapsulation, sump pump, and lack of a perimeter drainage system, the water issue would only get worse over time leading to greater issues.  Deanna also had cold floors and cold drafts inside her home, which needed to be addressed as well.

Our production crew faced several challenges on this job including working in the flooded crawl space during a hot July day.  However, they adapted to these conditions and completed the job in 3 days installing an EZ Flow drainage system, TripleSafe sump pump, CleanSpace vapor barrier, and SilverGlo wall insulation.

Deanna was happy with the result of the job and is looking forward to having a healthier, cleaner crawl space.  The installation of this waterproofing system will permanently eliminate these issues.  Don't let those cold, drafty floors drive you crazy.  Contact us for a free, no obligation estimate today!

Sagging Floors in Fortville, IN

Lester has an older home that was showing signs of wear and tear such as sagging floors in his living room.  Frustrated by the uneven floors throughout the home, he contacted Basement Systems of Indiana for a free estimate.  Our Sales Inspector Jay went into the homeowner's crawl space to check for sagging floor joists.

Our Foreman Joe and his crew installed SmartJacks Crawl Space Support Posts which stabilize sagging or uneven floors inside the above.  Our crawl space repair system will ensure that your home has a stable crawl space that won't sink or sag.  The SmartJack is installed by attached steel support beams to the floor joists and a sturdy base at the floor. Once all posts are installed, they are adjusted to restore stability at a level position.

The production faced cold temperatures during this winter installation, but worked efficiently to push through the harsh conditions to provide excellent results.  The homeowner Lester couldn't be happier that his floors were no longer sagging and uneven.  If you are in need of a crawl space repair to fix sagging or uneven floors in your home, fill out are free estimate form here: https://www.basementsystemsofindiana.com/free-estimate.html

Flooded Basement in McCordsville, IN

Homeowner Jason had a substantial amount of water in his basement that seemed to be passing through his walls.  This has been a persistent problem for Jason, but it was beginning to get worse over time.  He found Basement Systems of Indiana through Reach Magazine and contacted us for a free basement waterproofing estimate.  Our Sales Inspector Terry went to Jason's home to get a closer look at Why and how the basement was taking in a significant amount of water.

It was determined that water was passing through the walls, creating a need for a French Drain System that could carry the water to a Sump Pump to remove all of it from the home.  Our Foreman Jon and his crew quickly got to work installing the basement waterproofing system that included a WaterGuard French Drain System to collect the water from the walls and a TripleSafe Sump Pump.  The TripleSafe Sump Pump will provide Jason's basement with three levels of protection and includes a batter backup system in case of a power outage.

The job was completed in two days and the basement was now free of water and humidity.  Jason was very happy that the problem was properly identified by experts and the solution was an effective one.  If you have water flooding into your basement as shown in the before pictures, please fill out a basement waterproofing free estimate form here: https://www.basementsystemsofindiana.com/free-estimate.html

Crawl Space Encapsulation in Greenfield, IN

Homeowner Mary had several nagging problems in her crawl space that needed to be addressed to prevent further damage to her home's value.  Her floors above her crawl space were sagging significantly, there was a musty smell entering the home from her crawl space, and there were some water issues in the crawl space as well.  She was referred to us by an HVAC company and decided to schedule a free estimate for with our Sales Inspector Jay.  Jay examined the inside of the crawl space and sagging floors in the home as well to find an effective solution that would work best for the homeowner Mary.

In order to repair the sagging floors inside the home, our SmartJacks Support System would need to be installed in the crawl space to stabilize the floor joists.  An encapsulation was required to seal off the crawl space floor from the Earth to prevent moisture build up that was causing high humidity and mold. A Sump Pump would be the next step to effectively waterproof the crawl space.

Our Foreman Joe and his lead installer Holden faced several challenges throughout the installation, but persevered to complete the job in just three days.  The crew encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, installed a SmartSump Pump to remove any water, and installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to control the mold and humidity levels in the crawl space.  The homeowner Mary was very happy with all of the work that was done by such a small crew.  If you have a nasty crawl space that is need of several repairs like this one, please fill out a free estimate form here: https://www.basementsystemsofindiana.com/free-estimate.html

Sump Pump Annual Maintenance in Wilkinson, IN

Homeowner Scott had a sump pump installed by Basement Systems of Indiana in 2018 to remove water that was coming into his basement.  We recommend annual maintenance of any system that we install to ensure that is still operating smoothly, clean the sump liner of silt and sediment, and change the batteries in the WaterWatch® alarm (should be done annually).

Dirt and sediment build-up in a sump pump liner can cause pump failure and if that happens you get flooded. Your sump pump is an electro-mechanical device that needs to be maintained just like your car.  Neglecting to get your pump serviced can result in water in your basement. Even with a generator, a dead pump or blocked discharge line will do you no good.

Our Service Inspector Zach recently completed the annual maintenance of the basement waterproofing system and found no real issues.  He went over his maintenance checklist, cleaning the sump liner, changing the batteries, and checking the pump operation - float switch, intake, check valve, and impeller.  Scott was again thrilled with our efforts of continually ensuring that his system is running smoothly.  Don't take any chances on your systems functionality, schedule your annual maintenance today!  https://www.basementsystemsofindiana.com/schedule-annual-maintenance.html

Foundation Repair in Fortville, IN

This homeowner in Fortville, Indiana had large cracks in the exterior of his home's foundation and floor cracks in the basement as well.  The homeowner Dave became very interested in having these foundation issues fixed to preserve the stability of his home.  He found Basement Systems of Indiana in Reach Magazine and quickly contacted our customer care team to schedule a free estimate with our foundation experts.  Our Sales Inspector Dave went to the home to provide a free inspection to determine a viable solution for the foundation issues.

During the inspection, our Sales Inspector Dave examined the entire exterior of the home and the basement where the homeowner had noticed a significant crack in the floor.  Dave recommended having Helical Piers installed restore stability to the home as a result of foundation settlement around the home.  The wall and floor cracks were caused by a result of the foundation sinking and settling, which then causes it to become unstable.

Our foundation repair Foreman Todd and his crew installed 5 Helical Piers around the exterior of the home where there were obvious signs of foundation settlement.  The process began with the crew removing the soil via excavator where the foundation problems were prevalent around the home.  The Helical Piers are then mechanically drilled into the soil once proper depths are reached allowing the weight of the home to shift back to its original level.  If you notice large wall or floor cracks in your home, contact us today for a free estimate.  https://www.basementsystemsofindiana.com/free-estimate.html

Damp, Moldy Basement in Greenfield, IN

This homeowner in Greenfield, Indiana was very concerned about water that had been seeping through his basement walls and on to the floor causing high risk for mold growth.  The water seemed to be only leaking through the cracks during heavy rains, but the homeowner wanted an expert’s opinion.  He found Basement Systems of Indiana while searching on the Internet and became intrigued by their positive reviews on Google.

Our Sales Inspector Josh went out to the home in Greenfield, Indiana to provide a thorough inspection of the basement.  During his walkthrough, he explained to the homeowner exactly where the basement was leaking water and tested the relative humidity in the basement to ensure proper air quality.  Our waterproofing system consisting of a floor drainage system, a sump pump, and wall vapor barrier would be the perfect solution for the homeowner's basement issues.

Our Foreman Gary and his crew members Sai and Eric began using a jack hammer to dig out the perimeter of the basement to install the WaterGuard floor drainage system.  The WaterGuard was installed on top of the footer, backfilled with pea gravel, and then the crew sealed it back over with concrete.  A TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed and tied in to the WaterGuard system to keep the basement dry all the time.  To prevent moisture from passing through the basement walls, the crew used CleanSpace wall vapor barrier for a clean, brighter appearance.
