The Seymour Seventh-day Adventist Church had some issues with water leaking into their basement. Concerned about the potential flooding and high humidity, they began searching for reliable basement waterproofing companies online and found Basement Systems of Indiana. Our Sales Inspector Dave went to the church for a free waterproofing inspection to come with a viable solution that would always keep the basement dry .
Dave determined that the water was leaking through the basement walls and onto the floor in some areas, so he recommended having a drainage system and sump pump installed. They came to an agreement on having a WaterGuard perimeter French drainage system installed which is popular because of its resistance to clogs, its easy-to-access service ports, and its ability to also collect leaking water from the basement walls. A TripleSafe Sump Pump was tied into the drainage system and will keep the basement dry at all times.
Our Foreman Nick and his crew were faced with some adversity in the beginning of the project, but they overcame their challenges and finished the installation in 5 days. Troy and Tina had several concerns about the current condition of their crawl space. It had dirt floors and lacked an encapsulation system, wall insulation, and a sump pump. Another major issue that these homeowners were having was that their floors above the crawl space were sagging, and they were in the process of beginning a remodeling project that included new flooring.
Our sales representative Terry went to their home for a free inspection and determined that numerous changes needed to be made in order to keep the crawl space dry and repair the structural issues with the floors above the crawl space. For the crawl space waterproofing process, our foreman Joe and his crew installed a full CleanSpace encapsulation system, SilverGlo wall insulation, and a SmartSump pump to remove any water.
As for the structural issues, we used our crawl space support system product called Smart Jacks. The purpose of using this product was to lift and stabilize the floors above the crawl space, so Troy and Tina can begin their re-flooring project. Overall, both projects greatly increased the value of their home, and allowed them to focus on other home projects.
