Before the project began, homeowner Matt in Greenwood had a basement bar space that lacked a proper emergency exit. While the area was functional and inviting, it didn’t meet safety standards for egress, which was a concern for Matt as he looked to make the space both code-compliant and safer for his family and guests.
To address this, Matt contacted Basement Systems of Indiana for a free inspection and estimate. During the visit, basement specialist Cory recommended installing a complete egress window system to provide a safe exit in case of emergencies and to enhance the overall usability of the basement.
Foreman Isaias and his crew installed a 48” x 48” white sliding egress window along with a RockWell window well, designed for durability and visual appeal. A drain stubbed to the top of a 4” gravel base was included to ensure proper water management and prevent pooling around the window.
After installation, the basement bar space was transformed—not only meeting safety requirements but also benefiting from increased natural light and improved ventilation. The addition of the egress window made the space feel more open and secure, giving Matt peace of mind and adding long-term value to his home.
